Do more with your book notes
Oxity is modern workspace designed to store and organise all your book notes – helping you to remember more of what you read and to create your best work with everything at hand.
Oxity is the place to store all your book notes. Everything in a book you’ve underlined. All your highlights, marginalia, quotes, and analysis. It’s the place to store all of the anecdotes and stories that you come across in books.
Unlike a generic note-taking app such as Evernote, OneNote – or god forbid – the notes app on your phone, all your notes are automatically related to a specific book. This means that each of your notes has context – for example an author, translator, page number, and chapter, to name just a few.
Bliss.
Oxity also makes tracking key themes and ideas through all the books you read an absolute breeze. Ever read two differing accounts of an event in two different books? Or maybe the same nuanced idea is covered by multiple authors. Oxity lets you cross-reference notes across your whole library, which is a much more granular approach than combining notes with tags.
It’s never any fun when you get to the end of a writing project, such as a book, report, or essay, and having to comb through all your sources to create your citations. Oxity solves this problem by automatically generating your citations for every single note in your library with just one click. So all you have to do is copy and paste into your bibliography. Job done.
Currently, Oxity supports citations in the APA, and Harvard style, with more on the way!
We’ve worked hard to ensure that importing all your book info is as convenient as possible. With Oxity, you simply have to give us the ISBN of the book you wish to import and we’ll search the Google Books database and automatically import as much information as we can, including the book cover, subtitle, and description.
This will free up your time to concentrate on the juicy stuff – making notes!
Oxity simply wouldn’t be of much use if it didn’t provide the ability to take rich book notes, which is why we’ve included a powerful text editor that supports text styles, hyperlinks, lists, quotes, and code blocks to name just a few. The Oxity ethos is that technology shouldn’t stand in your way, so we stay well away from making you edit notes with languages such as Markdown. You can thank us later.
“Where on earth did I put that note?” is a phrase you’ll never have to utter again. Oxity gives you the tools you need to quickly find and organise your book notes. As well as an effective search tool, you can tag individual notes and books, you can sort your notes by a number of parameters, such as most recently updated or created, and as mentioned above, you can cross reference individual notes to set up a one-to-one link for an incredibly granular association.
Do you have quotes scribbled down on post-it notes all over the place? How about a photos app on your phone crammed full of screenshots from social media? Or maybe even a hundred separate notes in Evernote, across multiple notebooks? We know the feeling, which is why Oxity provides a dedicated space to store all your favourite quotes. Annnnnnd breathe.
Sometimes your notes need even more context, or information from external sources. With Oxity you can attach separate files and photos to every note in your library.
